Map of location: http://www.bugbog.com/images/maps/usa_map.jpg

What is the issue?

In the Midwest there was winter storm and it went towards the East of U.S.A. The winter storm cut off all power supplies to homes, distrupted businesses, and about 100 flights were canceled.

Who is involved?

The people who are invloved are:

  • The people who live in the Midwest and East of U.S.A.
  • The airlines
  • The passengers/airline crew
  • The people who work for compan and businessmen
  • Who is affected and how?

The peple who are affected are the people who live in Iowa, Illinois, Maryland, Northern Virginia, Washington, D.C., Wisconsin, and Kansas because they don’t have any power supplies to the homes. There were traffic deaths in Wisconsin and Kansas. Kansas has one death and Wisconsin has eight deaths. They are affected beacause the roads are not safe for travel and families are loosing their loved ones.

What would you do if you were directly involved?

If I am directly involved, I would try to fix back the power supplies to people as soon as possible. I will discuss with the government to clear the snow on the roads as soon as possible. Also, I will tell the airlines to inform the passengers early should there be any flight cancellation.

    ANCIENT AFRICA WIKI REFLECTION #2

February 9th, 2007 by arfan in Ancient Africa · Wikispaces · 1 Comment

What would you change about the final product (the wiki you created) if you were to do the assignment again?

If I had to do it again I would put more effort even though I did put effort this time. I would make it more professional  so people around the world who is looking at the wiki will think that professional people made the wiki.

Look at some of the other wikis from any class and find a few that you think are done exceptionally well. Tell me the name of the empire and the block, and then explain what you like about their wiki.

    Kongo Kingdom- Block E

This group did good a job because they id a good job on their topic. The thing which I like was that at the homepage they used cooltext for the links to the different Kongo pages. Overall I though they did a good job on the presentation and put pictures.

This is a map of the world where the global warming can happen.

How are your two events connected?

They are connected because both of these stories have to deal about global warming. In Bea’s article it talks about global warming slowly destroying the earth but in my article it talks about that global warming are making hurricanes, tsunamis, etc.

What did I find interesting about this topic?

I found that in the article that was interesting, they explained about global warming and told wat type of effects can it happen like heatwaves, hurricanes, etc.

What did I like about the Initial blog posting?

What I thought about Bea’s posting was that she detailed only the main points which was neccesary. She showed a map and a picture about her article which was good. Overall she did a good job!

    ANCIENT AFRICA WIKI REFLECTION

February 8th, 2007 by arfan in Ancient Africa · Wikispaces · Social Studies · No Comments

What did you learn from this task?

I leraned a lot of things on this project. I lernaed a lot about the kingdom that I was studiyng, Swahili Coastal Trading States. Some of the things which learned about Swahili is that they don’t have a political system because they follow the systems of their neighbors.

Did you find this difficult or easy? Why?

Well I thought it was easy and difficult. I felt it easy because I  knew what I had to do and some of the infomation I could find straight away.I thought it was difficult ins ome cases because I sometimes had trouble to find infomation.

What would you change about the process you went through to complete the wiki if you were to do the assignment again?

If I had to do it again then I would remeber what mistakes I did this time and made sure that I didn’t do it the next time.

Today in class I heard my classmates talk about the country they were doing.  I learn about the diferent countries which I didin’t know about. The intresting part was that Iran there was at least 2 million people on drugs. Also I thought that was interesting is Lithuania has 4% of internet users and 1% cell phone users in the whole population! I thought it was very surprising that Canada is under the external debt of $ 439.8 billion!
